Italian Online Supermarket Increases Capital Expenditure To Expand Service

Italian online supermarket Supermercato24 is increasing its capital expenditure by €3.3 million, in order to launch in the south and expand in the north of the country.

In addition, the start-up will continue its integration project with large-scale distribution, reports Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore.

The capital increase (the second since mid-2016) will be provided by investors and various funds, including Innogest and 360 Capital Partner, Rancilio Cube, IAG and Club Investitori Torino.

The service conducts an average of 500 grocery deliveries a day, delivered in over 300 municipalities.

Groceries are delivered within one hour, with a charge starting at €4.90. The service is operational in 16 Italian provinces in Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia Romagna and Lazio.
