Orsero Group Completes Acquisitions In Spain And Italy

Italian importer and distributor of fruit and vegetables Orsero Group has completed new acquisitions in Spain and Italy.

The company has signed an official agreement with Spain’s Grupo Fernández for the purchase of Hermanos Fernández López, of which Orsero already held a 50% stake.

Based in Barcelona, Hermanos Fernández López is the second largest distributor of fresh fruit and vegetables in Spain in both turnover and market share. The company markets around 180,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables per year through its three main distributive facilities in Madrid, Barcelona and Alicante. Last year’s turnover amounted to €181 million.

Italian Expansion

Orsero Group has also finalised a deal with the Italian Maestrelli family to become the majority shareholder of Fruttital Firenze and Galandi.

Galandi is mainly focused on marketing fresh vegetables to the traditional retail sector, while Fruttital Firenze markets fresh fruit and cut fruit to large supermarkets.
