ASP Flexibles, part of the Americk Packaging Group, is set to move to a new site as part of the group's £7-million expansion.
According to Packaging News, ASP will move to a new 25,000-square-metre facility in Wigan, three times the size of its current location. The move has been made possible by sustained growth for the company, posting a 40-per-cent rise in profits last year.
The £7-million investment will also include a new state-of-the-art laboratory, as well as a boost to production capacity.
Steve Ellis, managing director of ASP Flexibles, said, "This significant investment will provide flexibility and room for growth. Servicing the fresh-produce market demands flexibility, the highest degree of customer service, technical innovation, and a thorough understanding of the unique demands of this market.
"Our customers are continually striving to meet consumer demand while managing waste, and our ability to provide a bespoke packaging solution that maximises the performance of their product, often with very short lead times, is absolutely critical."
