ITAB Presents 'Adopt A Wooden Baby Elephant' Initiative At EuroShop 2020

ITAB has introduced the 'Adopt A Wooden Baby Elephant' initiative at the EuroShop retail fair in Düsseldorf.

The project is being executed in association with Wildhood Foundation to raise awareness about elephant poaching.

In Africa’s wilderness, over 55 wild elephants are killed every day, and Wildhood Foundation works actively against poaching and the illegal trade.

ITAB has installed 55 life-size wooden elephants in its stand (Hall 1, south entrance), which are available for adoption.

Visitors are required to donate between €1,000 and €1,500 to adopt one wooden elephant, which comes in a take-away box and can be easily assembled.

The money raised will be used to support Africa’s second-largest elephant population in Zimbabwe’s lower Zambezi ecosystem.

The amount will cover six months' salary of one female park ranger in the Akashinga project, which employs and empowers women in Zimbabwe.

ITAB has also urged companies that have adopted an elephant and are exhibiting at EuroShop to set up the wooden baby elephant at their stall, in order to let visitors know that they support a living planet.

After the fair, the elephant can be used as a smart decoration in offices, homes, or even in a showroom.

The elephants are made of FSC-certified plywood, manufactured in ITAB's factory in Nässjö, Sweden.

ITAB is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of shop concepts, checkouts, lighting, fixtures and fittings, and shop equipment.
