Lidl Netherlands Removes Wine From Its Online Assortment

Discounter Lidl has removed wine from its online offerings in the Netherlands, reports Distrifood.nl.

Lidl Belgium will also stop selling wine on its web shop from 26 May.

The move is a part of the retailer's strategy to focus exclusively on non-food items in its online outlets, the report noted.

Lidl Germany has removed all food items from its online platform.

According to an IRI study, sales of wine in Dutch supermarkets dropped to 212 million litres in 2018, from 226 million litres in 2016.
