LVMH, L’Oréal Commit To Restoration Of Notre Dame

Hennessy parent LVMH and cosmetics firm L’Oréal are among those that have pledged funds to support the reconstruction of Paris’ famous Notre Dame, following a blaze at the cathedral on Monday.

In a statement, LVMH said that it is to donate a sum of €200 million to ‘the fund dedicated to the reconstruction of this architectural work, which is a core part of the French History’.

The Moët & Chandon maker also said that it is putting at the State’s disposal its team of ‘creative, architectural and financial specialists’, to assist with the reconstruction process, and fundraising activities.

Symbol Of French Heritage

Separately, L’Oréal said in a statement that it, along with the Bettencourt Meyers family, was announcing a joint donation of €100 million, ‘dedicated to the reconstruction of this symbol of French heritage and common history’.

It also pledged to offer its workforce to ‘contribute to the collective effort’ of rebuilding the iconic structure.

Separately, Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, which is linked to the Bettencourt Meyers family, has also pledged €100 million.

Luxury group Kering is among the other donors to the restoration of Notre Dame, with the jewellery and watch maker pledging €100 million to the cause.
