McDonald's Germany And Aldi Sign Personnel Partnership

Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd have signed a personnel partnership with McDonald's Germany, which will allow employees of the burger chain to take up temporary positions with the discounter in Germany.

As part of the agreement, McDonald's employees affected by restaurant closings and restricted working hours due to coronavirus crisis will be referred to Aldi and hired as required.

Commenting on the partnership, Nicolás de Lope, spokesperson for the board of directors of Aldi Nord, said, “Special times require special solutions. This form of cooperation has so far been unique for Aldi. We are convinced that we can overcome this crisis with unconventional solutions and strong cohesion.”

The increase in demand for food following the epidemic is weighing on the discounter, creating the requirement for additional personnel in its sales and logistics departments.

'Classic Win-Win Situation'

The CEO of McDonald's Germany, Holger Beeck, added, “With this solution, we can offer a classic win-win situation: Our employees can - if they so wish - continue to be employed. At the same time, Aldi benefits from additional resources.”
