Original Unverpackt - The New German Supermarket With No Packaging

Berlin-based Original Unverpackt is a new concept supermarket that operates a zero-waste policy.

Original Unverpack says it will enforce its policy by not selling any products in disposable bags, cartons or jars in its store.

Instead of supermarket shelves, the retailer uses bins containing grains, crates of fresh produce and a drinks section for refillable bottles.

Shoppers can bring their containers for shopping, which will be weighted and labelled in-store. When ready to pay for your products, the weight of your containers is subtracted with you paying for just the net weight of your purchases.

The founders say that consumer demand is now rising for goods dealing with sustainability.
