Routin, the French syrup maker, is to switch from using metal packaging to plastic packaging.
The firm, which is, after Teisseire, the biggest maker of syrups on the French market, has also issued a request to the Société générale des technique to conceive of a new preform container made out of polyethylene terephthalate.
Cédric Donne, the industrial director at Routin, said of the switch to plastic, “We wished to keep the shapes of the old container [...] but also for it to have all the benefits of PET – lightness, recyclability, and a degree of transparency.”
