Smurfit Kappa's 'Pouch-Up' Wins Packaging Oscar

Dublin-based packaging company Smurfit Kappa's Pouch-Up design for Pressade 'La Fabrique à jus' product has won an Oscar de L'Emballage award, the company recently reported.

The packaging type was lauded for its convenience and ability to keep juice fresh for longer.

With the Pouch-Up design, the juice can stay fresh for three weeks, compared to four or five days using traditional ambient juice packaging, the company said.

The new three-litre size is also easy to store, and the in-built tap helps children pour the juice without mess.

The 61st edition of the annual packaging prize gala was held at the Elysées Biarritz hotel on 14 November, with 330 attendees present. About 100 products were examined by an expert jury of packaging and conditioning professionals.
