U2 Supermercato, Pam Panorama To Open New Stores In Italy

Italian supermarket chain U2 Supermercato is to open a new store in Rovello Porro (Como), in the Lombardy region, reports GDO News.

Located on Via Como, the new supermarket has a sales area of 1,370 square metres, a car park with 120 parking spaces and a workforce of 31 employees.

The Como store offers about 9,340 SKUs and boasts several Unes private label ranges, including Il Viaggiator Goloso and U! Confronta&Risparmia, as well as Green Oasis Casa and Eco U!.

A number of environmentally-friendly measures have been implemented at the new outlet, including the use of biodegradable and compostable bags and the installation of a bottle crushing machine for bottle recycling.

The new supermarket is open seven days a week and offers extended opening hours of up to 10:00pm every day.

Elsewhere, Italian retailer Pam Panorama has announced that it will open a new store in Castel San Pietro Terme (Bologna), in the Emilia-Romagna region, in the second half of the year.

The new supermarket, located on Via Emilia Ponente, boasts a sales area of 1,220 square meters and will employ more than 30 staff.

The Bologna outlet will offer a wide range of SKUs, including local and Italian traditional dishes as part of the iTesori line, a selection of products bearing DOP and IGP certification, as well as a number of personal care goods, under the Arkalia range.

The assortment will also offer several products in line with new food tends, including vegan/vegetarian and organic references, as well as a number of free from and healthy products under Pam's private label line Semplici e Buoni.

According to Fulvio Faletra, customer engagement director at Pam Panorama, the new store will focus on Italianness, the quality of the assortment, as well as on improving the daily relationship with customers.
