Unilever To Acquire Oral Care Brands From P&G

Unilever has announced that it has signed an agreement to buy toothpaste brands Fluocaril and Parogencyl from Procter & Gamble.

Fluocaril offers oral care solutions for cavities, while Parogencyl tackles gum issues.

Both brands are well-known in the pharmacy channel, particularly in France and Spain, and are widely endorsed by dental care professionals.

A Strong Position

The acquisition will make Unilever a leader in the oral care segment within the French pharmacy channel, and secure a strong position for the consumer goods giant in Spain.

The products, which have a powerful brand heritage and a sound reputation amongst dentists, will complement Unilever’s existing oral care portfolio, the company said.

The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2019.
