Pernod Ricard Makes Changes To Asian Management

Pernod Ricard has implemented a management shake-up at its Asian arm, creating a number of new positions in the process, as a means of driving growth for its premium product ranges.

This involves a “simplification of the structures with the elimination of geographical clusters, allowing for faster decision-making that is closer to the conditions on the ground”, and “the creation of a regional centre of excellence to promote the acquisition and sharing of new competencies, which will contribute to the development of local brands and route to market in Asia”, according to Pernod.

From 1 July, its Greater China division will be subdivided into a China-only section, to be led by Jean-Etienne Gourgues, a Hong Kong & Macau section, to be led by Frantz Hotton, and a Taiwan section, which will be fronted by Terence Ong.

Each will report to Pernod Ricard Asia, which will be managed by Horace Ngai from 1 September in the capacity of executive vice-president for strategy and business development.

Jean Touboul, currently managing director of Pernod Ricard Taiwan, will be appointed managing director of Pernod Ricard Korea on 1 September.
