P&G Canada Donates More Than $2.5m In COVID-19 Relief Efforts

P&G Canada has announced that it has donated more than $2.5 million in providing hygiene products, hand sanitisers, face masks, and financial support to healthcare workers and people affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

The company has collaborated with its long-standing charitable partners, government officials, and other organisations to carry out relief efforts in Canada since the onset of the outbreak.

To date, P&G’s cash, product, and in-kind donations add up to tens of millions of dollars across 30 brands in approximately 30 countries around the world, the company said.

President of P&G Canada, Eric Breissinger, commented, “During these unprecedented times, P&G is committed to doing everything possible to ensure the health and safety of all our employees, to continue to serve our consumers with essential products and to take meaningful action to help communities in need and those on the frontlines.”

Masks and Hand Sanitiser Production

Over the coming weeks, the company plans to commence production of non-surgical-grade barrier masks at its Belleville facility and hand sanitiser at its Brockville plant in Canada.

The masks and sanitiser manufactured in these plants will not be available for retail sales, the company added.

The company has already started the production of face masks, hand sanitiser, and face shields at various manufacturing facilities across the globe.

Everyday Essentials

The company has donated 33,000 hygiene kits worth more than $500,000 to local shelters and food banks.
