Pladis Appoints Koen Regout As Head Of Koninklijke Verkade

Biscuit and confectionery company Pladis has announced that Koen Regout has been appointed as the new managing director of its Dutch subsidiary Koninklijke Verkade.

Koninklijke Verkade, which produces brands such as Verkade and Sultana, was acquired by Pladis in 2014. In his new role, Regout will have responsibility for developing and delivery all commercial aspects of Pladis' operations in the Netherlands.

Prior to joining Pladis, Regout was director of marketing and sales at the Dutch State Lottery, marketing and innovation director at VGZ health insurance, and marketing director for United Biscuits Netherlands.

Emin Birsel, Pladis' managing director for Europe, said that Regout will "integral in growing our business further in the Netherlands".

Pladis, whose portfolio includes brands such as McVitie's and Godiva, has made a number of recent senior appointments. Last week it named Luigi La Corte as its new chief financial officer, and in July the company appointed Anthoula Madden as its new chief digital officer.
