Portugal's Cerealis Invests €7 Million In New Production Line

Portuguese food manufacturer Grupo Cerealis has invested €7 million in its cereal production unit in Trofa, reports Distribuicao Hoje.

In addition to the expansion of the plant, the investment will be used to automate the company's packaging lines, and to produce a new line of cereal bars.

The Trofa production unit is spread across an area of 11,200 square metres and has a production capacity of around 90 tonnes per day.

It also includes an automated warehouse with a capacity of over 10,000 pallets.

New Range Of Products

This investment will help the company in setting up production facilities for its new range of 'Buhler' cereal bars, and to build its portfolio of national brand products.

The company aims to both meet the demand for cereal bars and reduce imports in this category.

Along with brands Milaneza and Harmonia, Cerealis is a market leader in Portugal in the pasta and industrial flour segment.

The company produces 480,000 tons of cereals per year and its annual sales amount to around €15 million.

The company exports one quarter of its products annually.
