The 12 Ads Of Christmas – Vote For European Retail's Best Christmas Ad

'Tis the season to be jolly! With just days to go until Santa Claus' arrival, ESM brings you the gift that keeps on giving, as we count down the best festive retailer commercials of 2019.

We have entrusted our pan-European network of elves to gather what we deem to be the best dozen retailer adverts currently in circulation across the continent... and we are asking you, the ESM reader, to select what you deem to be the pick of the Yuletide crop.

Please enter your favourite in the form below; scroll down to view the adverts. We will announcing the winner on Thursday 19th December. Happy holidays!

Albert Heijn (Netherlands)

Christmas is a time for the community, so why not invite them all for dinner? Inspired by the wide range of Dutch traditional festive recipes, a small child takes things into his own hands.

Aldi Süd (Germany)

A mustachioed Aldi shopper gets plenty of attention as he makes his way around the store... but why? You'll have to wait until the end to find out.

Carrefour (France)

French retail giant Carrefour, which marked its 60th anniversary at the end of November, continues this theme with its '60 Noëls déjà' commercial, tracking six decades of festive cheer at the retailer. Stylish, fashionable and very French.

Conad (Italy)

There's more to the festive season than Christmas trees, as Italian retailer Conad pays tribute to the real heroes of Christmas, such as hospital workers and other public servants, in this seasonal short.

Coop (Switzerland)

Ever wonder how an in-store supermarket announcer spends Christmas? Coop Switzerland introduces viewers to Lucie, who believes she is destined to spend the festive season alone. Until a special someone walks into her store, that is. Who said you need to use Tinder to find love these days?

Dunnes Stores (Ireland)

The weather is looking nasty for Santa's arrival – this is Ireland, after all – so some enterprising children take things into their own hands to ensure a safe passage from the North Pole.

Edeka (Germany)

German retailer Edeka is renowned for its 'mini-epic' festive commercials, and this similarly pulls at the same heartstrings, as a jet-setter, who becomes a social media star for tracking down the 'perfect' meal accompaniment, returns home to discover the ultimate Yuletide ingredient.

El Corte Inglés (Spain)

If you look hard enough, Santa's little helpers are everywhere. A child's view of the world at Christmastime, courtesy of the upmarket Spanish retailer.

John Lewis Partnership / Waitrose & Partners (UK)

Upmarket retailer Watirose and Partners, part of the John Lewis Partnership group, has unveiled a fantasy fable this Christmas, featuring a little girl and her excitable pet dragon, Edgar. As you can imagine, fire breathing dragons make for a somewhat problematic partner at this time of year.

Jumbo (Netherlands)

As a mother goes off on a business trip to Tokyo, her family back home assemble Christmas in the best way that they can... but will they manage to put on a suitable festive feast in time for her return?

Sainsbury's (UK)

With Sainsbury's celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, it's only natural for the UK retailer to turn the clock back to Dickensian times, and introduce viewers to Nicholas the chimney sweep, who runs afoul of the law over a discarded citrus fruit.

Tesco (UK)

This one is firmly aimed at fans of Back To The Future, we suspect. With Tesco marking 100 years of business this year, a Tesco delivery driver ends up taking an unexpected detour through time, delivering food to Winston Churchill, a warehouse rave, a gang of street urchins, and a whole lot more.
