Discount supermarket chain Aldi is launching a range of organic products in the UK, which may mean customers saving 25 per cent on their organic purchases.
Aldi will first introduce items such as broccoli, carrots, cauliflower and onions, and prices will range from 79p to £1.49.
Rival supermarkets reportedly charge from 85p to £2.45 for organic fresh produce.
Aldi also announced that it will extend its Specially Selected range with more premium/luxury products. New products include Angus 30-day-aged sirloin steak (£5.99), Imperator carrots (£1.29) and British cold-pressed rapeseed oil (£1.99). Items have been selected for their ingredients and quality.
The discount grocer's premium range has experienced a 74-per-cent rise in year-on-year sales.
