Aldi UK has won the 2012 retail product of the year for their 'Northern Catch Select' Large Salmon Wellington with a Cheese and Dill Sauce, from the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF). The awards held last month named McCain Foods' 'McCain Signatures' Gastro Chips as the catering product of the year.
Other gold winners in the catering category include Bar & Restaurant Foods, Creative Foods, 3663, KK Fine Foods and Delice de France, while Asda and Morrisons were winners in the retail section. The awards ceremony and gala dinner dance were held in London's Hilton on Park Lane Hotel and the event was attended by over 800 guests.
The BFFF has run the awards of the past 25 years 'to reward and recognise the terrific quality and product development in the frozen food'. (31 Jul)
