Auchan To Use FSC Corks In Own-Brand Wine

French retailer Auchan is to use sustainably-produced corks from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) in 60 of its own-label range of wines, Pierre Chanau. The sustainably sourced corks will be produced by MA Silva, a Portuguese company, which has processing plants in Alentajo and the Algarve.

The wines that will use the new corks will be mostly red wines and selected  white wines from Alsace and Burgundy; accounting for a volume of 15 million bottles per year. (1 July)
