Death Of Reynolds, A Key Player In European Own-Label Pet Food

Albert Reynolds, a key figure in European pet food and former Irish head of government, has died.

He was the co-owner of C&D Foods, which started producing pet food from its base in Ireland in 1969, supplying its produce to its home country and the UK.

Over the years, sizeable investments in the business allowed it to spread across Europe.

The company has now increased its presence to incorporate major production facilities and sales offices in 11 EU locations.

In 2008, the company joined forces with the ABP Food Group, and is now one of the largest private-label pet-food producers in Europe, supplying pet products to many of the major supermarket and retail chains.
