E.Leclerc Strengthens Polish Private Label

France-based retailer E.Leclerc has plans to strengthen private label in its Polish operations, with aims to grow the share of its own brands to between 40 and 60 per cent of turnover, according to local press. Private label currently makes up 18 per cent of sales at the retailer's Polish stores.

The retailer's Bio Village and Marque Repère own labels were recently introduced to the Polish stores, with particular emphasis on cheese, frozen foods, wine, and fish.

The French retailer entered the Polish market in 1995 and currently operates 40 stores. (14 March)
