Spain's Eroski has launched a new healthy private label range, Sannia, which will contain between 25-30% less salt, sugar or fat compared to other Eroski own-label lines. In addition, the range will include no artificial colors, no GMOs and no trans fats and will be enriched with fibre and Omega-3.
"The new range at Eroski is the culmination of two years of work towards offering consumers healthier products while keeping the price low," said Iñaki Larrabeiti, Eroski's quality director. The new range will be packaged in blue packaging, with the nutritional benefits marked clearly on the packet.
Eroski also recently introduced a new colour-based labelling system, Semáforo Nutricional, on its products, to indicate gluten-free products for its consumers. (1 July)
