Nisa Launches Heritage Gourmet Private Label Range

Convenience retailer Nisa has launched a new gourmet private label range. It claims to be the first convenience banner to do so.

Having revamped its Heritage own label banner in the summer, the range now has three categories - Heritage Pantry for everyday essentials, Heritage - competing with the A-brands, and Heritage Gourmet consisting of premium food items.

The first Gourmet products are a range of sausages made from premium cuts of locally-sourced pork - pork sausages (6x400g), Cumberland sausages (6x400g) and pork and herb sausages (6x400g). The products retail for £5 for two packs.

Launched this summer, sales of Nisa's new Heritage pies and pastries rose by 50% across its 2,500 stores in the UK. The convenience retailer will also launch fresh meat, cheeses and milk shakes.

“The new Heritage range offers great taste and value from your local shop," said Ian Bishop, marketing director of Nisa. "We are proud of the new Gourmet range, which we believe stands the taste test against the best on the market,” he added.

In other news, Nisa recently announced that its chief executive, Neil Turton, will leave the organisation in the spring of 2015, after 23 years with the business.
