Obeikan MDF Joins 'Food Fellows' Project
Spanish packaging company Obeikan MDF has joined the 'Food Fellows’ project to fight food waste and devise sustainable solutions.
The project is an initiative of the Harvest House in the Netherlands, one of the largest cooperatives of salad growers in the country.
'Food Fellows' aims to convert rejected or surplus unsold food into high-quality products for consumption and commercialisation.
As part of the project, Obeikan MDF has designed specialised displays for German shop shelves, to reinforce differentiation of premium products in stores.
The eye-catching and colourful displays, designed to increase visibility and encourage product consumption, have been installed in several stores in Germany.
Salvador Martínez, general manager of Obeikan MDF, said, "The tomato sauce from ‘Food Fellows’ competes with highly-positioned products in the fruit and vegetables section. In this context, Obeikan MDF steps in, with a striking display that has a capacity of 30 kilograms per tray, to attract the attention of the consumer at the point of sale.
"In addition, our flexibility, ability to quickly develop our products, as well as their sustainability, makes our displays the best option for any company that goes for these factors."
True to Obeikan MDF's style, the materials used in the display are recyclable, sustainable, and eco-friendly.
The company bets on new solutions to meet the demands of its current customers across various sectors.
Obeikan's displays have been installed in more than 300 establishments in different German cities.
