Italian regional grocery retailer Cadoro has signed an agreement with fresh artisan pasta producer Pastificio Veneto to develop a dedicated product line.
According to a press release by the company, Pastificio Veneto will supply six vegan and organic products for Cadoro’s private label line.
All of the SKUs will be produced with organic materials and feature a short supply chain.
The president of the Noigroup Cooperative, which owns Pastificio Veneto, Fabio Panizzon, commented that this is the first time in Italy that an important retailer like Cadoro has bought products from a cooperative that employs socially-disadvantaged persons.
Cadoro operates 23 stores in the Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Emilia Romagna regions.
