The recent 14th edition of MDD Expo in Paris proved a huge hit, as over 4,500 trade visitors were able to discover the know-how of 500 specialist manufacturers of premium, mid-range and regional private-label products.
The two days of successful business interactions provided the opportunity for manufacturers and retailers to discuss and implement their new projects.
The various events – the first Trophées des Savoir-Faire Innovants (Innovative Know-How Awards), Innovations Store, Pack Store and Espace Dégustation (Tasting Area) – demonstrated the creativity of businesses dedicated to manufacturing customised private-label products.

Twenty-four countries were represented, including the likes of Belgium, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey and Algeria.
Some 80 per cent of the 4,500 trade visitors were industry decision-makers, with all distribution channels – Retail/Hard Discount, Wholesale/Cash&Carry, Import/Export, HoReCa, Specialised Supermarket, E-commerce, Beauty salon/Para-pharmacy – represented at the two-day event.
The winners of the first Trophées des Savoir-Faire Innovants were also announced. The awards' goal was to showcase the know-how of six manufacturers (from among 60 entries selected) in various categories. The winners were as follows:

Non-Food Products: SOLIA, for Biobox
Special mention: TASTY FOOD, for Bœuf Teriyaki et ses nouilles
Meanwhile, the Innovations Store, the largest gathering of innovations in private-label brand professionals, benefitted from an overview of the latest innovations in customised products already being marketed around the world. Visitors were able to see over 100 innovations in private-label brands from ten countries, all in one place.
