Germany's Real Seeks To Improve App Capabilities

German retailer Real has announced plans to improve its shopping app, calling on shoppers to send in their improvement suggestions as part of the initiative 'APPetit auf mehr Funktionen?' (Hungry for more functions?).

Following a relaunch in April, the app currently provides an integrated barcode scanner, a reminder function relating to deliveries, market information at a glance, and various sign-in functions.

Looking For Suggestions

From June 17 to 28, consumers are encouraged to submit their suggestions and ideas via real.de/gewinnspiele/App-Gewinnspiel.

The two individuals that put forward the best suggestions will win a 'meet and greet' with the real app team, that will enable the winners to present their ideas as well as talk with the developers.

The 'meet and greet' is going to take place on August 26 in Mönchengladbach.

"Without constant updates and improvements, apps quickly become uninteresting," commented Gerald Schönbucher, the Managing Director of real.digital. "Therefore, it is always important to get impulses from outside your own bubble.

"That's why we are looking for new talents for our team, especially in the fields of software development, online marketing and data science," he added.
