  • SPAR Hungary has opened a new SPAR City store in Budapest and modernised supermarkets in East-Budapest and Eger as part of its ongoing expansion programme.

With an investment totalling €3.9 million across the three stores, the retailer aims to  ensure that customers have easier access to the product range across its stores.

    SPAR to Go

The renovated stores in Eger and Budapest feature a SPAR to Go unit, meeting growing demand for on-the-go options.

The newly opened SPAR City store is the first FMCG store in BudaPart – the newest quarter in the Hungarian capital.

SPAR Hungary has invested nearly €950,000 in the store, which has created 15 new jobs.

The store has been designed according to the company’s latest design concept. In addition to the renovated delicatessen counter and the bakery, a SPAR to Go unit has been added to the aisle of service counters, offering freshly prepared hot dishes.

Following an investment of €1.6 million, the refurbished SPAR store in Eger reopened on 18 March.

All furniture and equipment were replaced during the refurbishment, and new cash registers and self-checkouts were installed, SPAR added.
