Tesco Doing Fine As They Expand Wine Range

Tesco UK is planning to expand their Tesco Finest wine range with several new lines.

According to a report in The Grocer, consumers are now demanding a wider variety of wines and this has led to the launch of more wines, including what they say is a 'stunning' single-vineyard Shiraz.

The new wines range from £6.99 to £15.99 and include a Cobblestone Shiraz from the well-know Howard Park Australian winery to a lesser known Grechetto from Italy. There are seven new wines in total.

Tesco now has well over 100 wines in their Finest range.

Laura Jewell, category product development manager at Tesco, said, "The wine team is constantly on the lookout for new and exciting wines to add to the Finest range - the secret of our success is working closely with winemakers to source the best quality wines possible as well as listening to our customers to understand exactly what they like to drink."

Tesco recently won the IWC (International Wine Challenge) Own Label Range of the Year award and was named the IWC Direct Merchant of the Year for Tesco Wine by the Case. They also won the awards for IWC Great Value Champion Sweet and IWC Great Value Champion Red.

Earlier this week Lidl announced that they would be improving their wine offering in an attempt to attract more affluent customers.
