In an effort to reintroduce traditional and cheaper cuts of meat to the dinner table, UK grocer Waitrose has expanded its ‘Forgotten Cuts’ range to include lamb and veal offal.
The latest additions to the range include lamb heart (£4.99/kg), lamb sweetbreads (£9.99/kg), veal heart (£3.49/kg), veal tails (£5.99/kg) and veal sweetbreads (£24.99/kg). “The success of the Forgotten Cuts range shows that customers are learning to love these cuts again, and we are keen to introduce an even wider range to the nation,” said Waitrose. “We also have the interests of British agriculture at heart, and buying the whole carcass and not just choice cuts, ensures a better deal for farmers in the UK.” (Nov 22)
