Publix Super Markets Recalls Publix Baby Bella Sliced Mushrooms

US-based Publix Super Markets have issued a voluntary recall of its own-label Publix Baby Bella Sliced Mushrooms product that allegedly may contain pieces of glass.

The mushroom products were distributed to all Publix retail locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The supermarket chain announced the voluntary recall following the receipt of a complaint from one customer.

There are no reports of injuries involving the recalled products.

"As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all store shelves,” said Maria Brous, media and community relations director at Publix.

The affected item was available in an 8oz size.

It features the UPC code 4141502286 and lot code PHG 096.

Customers who purchased the product are advised to return the item to their local store for a full refund.
