Dutch retailer Ahold has made a number of changes to the executive team of its Albert Heijn supermarket chain. One team will now oversee Albert Heijn’s businesses in its home country, Belgium and Germany.
Sander van der Laan, currently COO of Ahold Europe, will become the new CEO of the Dutch chain. Two other members of Ahold’s Europe board were also appointed to Albert Heijn; Chris Dik was appointed as CFO and Luc de Baets was appointed Executive VP of Human Resources & Business Services. Cees van Vliet has been appointed EVP of Retail Operations and Casper Meijer as EVP of Merchandising. The positions of EVP of Marketing and Format will be filled in the near future.
The changes will help to grow the banner in Europe. (May 2)
