Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has introduced a new service - Allerhande Kookt - that delivers freshly-prepared, hot meals to customers' homes in Amsterdam.
The meals will be delivered within 30 minutes through the use of delivery services Deliveroo and Thuisbezorgd.nl.
“We are seeing an increasing demand among our customers for good home-cooked meals as they would prepare them, without the effort,” said Marit van Egmond, the EVP of commerce at Albert Heijn.
“This is exactly what we are offering with our new service ‘Allerhande Kookt’: the dishes that you would normally cook yourself, we can now make for you and you will get them nice and warm on the dinner table within half an hour."
A Wide Range Of Options
Albert Heijn’s chef-led kitchen team in Amsterdam West will cook fresh, signature meals that customers can select from the retailer’s extensive online recipe database, Allerhande.
All dishes contain at least 200 grams of vegetables, and customers can add salads, drinks, and desserts to accompany the main courses.
They also have the option to combine all sorts of selections in a single order.
Previously, the retailer introduced the Bakery Café and the Deli Kitchen concept to its stores.
In December 2018, its convenience brand - AH to go - announced a collaboration with Thuisbezorgd.nl to deliver an assortment of products from two stores in Amsterdam.
Allerhande is an omnichannel, culinary content platform with around 16,000 online recipes.
