Albert Heijn Opens Pop-Up Digital Store At Schiphol Airport

Dutch retailer Albert Heijn has announced the opening of a pop-up digital store at Schiphol Airport, for a trial period of two months.

The store, located at Jan Dellaertplein in front of Schiphol Plaza in Amsterdam, will be open to customers until the end of January 2020.

The retailer described it as "a wonderful test location" due to a large number of passers-by.

'Speed And Convenience'

Irene Muysson, head of retail, food and beverage and commercial services at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, said, "Speed and convenience are paramount for our travellers.

"We are therefore happy to give a stage to this innovation from Albert Heijn, and we are naturally extremely proud that we can be the first to offer visitors to Schiphol the benefits of digital shopping."

Customers can access the store by using their debit or credit cards and pay on their way out after shopping, without the need to download the app or register in advance.
