Aldi Suisse Introduces Nutri-Score System For Private Label

Aldi Suisse is to roll-out the Nutri-Score system to its private label brands Fresh Cut and Good Choice from the beginning of July.

These brands feature a number of convenience products, such as different varieties of sandwiches, ready-made salads and pre-cooked pasta or meat dishes.

The Nutri-Score labelling will initially be introduced on various salads and ready-made Asian dishes, ahead of its rollout across the entire Fresh Cut and Good Choice range.

The traffic light-based system indicates to consumers how balanced the ingredients of a product are, by the way of a colour scheme. The intention is to promote a balanced diet and provide a system for consumers to choose healthier products.

Nutritional Quality

Aldi was the first retailer in Switzerland to announce the introduction of Nutri-Score last August, as part of its 'actionsanté' initiative, which aims to improve the nutritional quality of ready-to-eat meals and other foods through the promise of voluntary action by companies.
