Aldi UK Spoofs John Lewis's 'Man on the Moon' Christmas Ad

It may already have almost 20 million views on Youtube, but that hasn't stopped rival supermarket Aldi UK parodying John Lewis's recent 'Man on the Moon' Christmas advert.

Yesterday, the German discounter took to its Youtube channel to launch a 'SpecialBuys' promotion on telescopes in the run up to Christmas, under the tagline. "Aldi prices are anything but astronomical."

Similar to the John Lewis spot, Aldi features a lonely old man on the moon - only in Aldi's ad, he compares the prices of telescopes at the two stores. Jean Jones, who Aldi have used in previous ad campaigns, features as the old man.
