Alimentaria To Be Held At Fira de Barcelona In April 2022

Alimentaria, the benchmark show for the Spanish food and beverage industry and one of the leading exponents of the international trade fair scene, will return to Fira de Barcelona's Gran Vía venue from 4 to 7 April 2022.

With less than two months to go, a large number of exhibitors and attendees have already signed up for the event, and final details are being prepared.

Together with Hostelco, the event will occupy seven pavilions of the Gran Vía venue at Fira de Barcelona, with a net exhibition area of almost 85,000 square metres.

Nearly 3,000 companies will comprise the overall offering of Alimentaria and Hostelco.

International Presence

According to the information about the exhibitors who have signed up, a considerable international presence is expected. Around 400 companies, or 18% of the total, will participate, hailing from 52 countries and occupying an area of 15,000 square metres.

Prominent among them are first-time exhibitors from Brazil, Slovakia, Australia, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Puerto Rico.

In addition, 87% of the firms that exhibited in 2020 have once again reaffirmed their participation in this year's event.

More than 200 companies are attending the event for the first time in search of business opportunities, or to explore export possibilities.

According to J Antonio Valls, managing director of Alimentaria Exhibitions, the upcoming edition "will allow us to promote the development of the food and beverage industry, which is a strategic sector for the Spanish economy, as well as continue strengthening the positioning of Spanish food and beverage products in international markets, connecting businesses and promoting face-to-face networking with key decision-makers in the market."

The show will invite 1,400 key buyers, importers and distributors from Europe, Latin America and North America, who will conduct nearly 12,500 business meetings with exhibiting companies participating in the show.
