Alnatura Nominated For 'Germany’s Most Sustainable Company' Honour

German organic supermarket chain Alnatura has been nominated for the ‘Germany’s Most Sustainable Company’ award, for the fourth time.

The annual ‘German Sustainability Award’ was established in 2008 and honours companies that "meet environmental and social challenges in a particularly successful manner with their products and services - using sustainability as an economic opportunity.”

The award ceremony this year will take place on 25 November 2016, during the German Sustainability Congress in Duesseldorf (Germany).

"The guiding principle of Alnatura, to treat both mankind and the planet sensibly reflects our daily efforts towards greater sustainability. We are therefore very pleased to have been nominated again for the German Sustainability Award and we thank our employees, partners, organic farmers - and especially our customers, who enable us to apply our principles," said Götz Rehn, founder and managing director of Alnatura, commenting on the nomination.

Alnatura operates 106 organic’s supermarkets in 50 cities - across 11 provinces - in Germany. The company currently employs 2,630 people, including 180 trainees.
