Bol.com To Launch French Version Of App In Belgium

Ahold Delhaize's online platform Bol.com has announced plans to launch a French version of its app for residents of the French-speaking part of Belgium.

In the summer of 2020, French-speaking residents of Belgium will be able to access the app in their native language.

The move will open up avenues for local entrepreneurs to sell their products in the French-speaking Belgian market and allow existing merchants to broaden their reach, the retailer said.

'Share The Expertise'

Huub Vermeulen, managing director of bol.com, explained, “In 2010, we officially launched bol.com in Dutch-speaking Belgium. Since September 2014, we have been able to serve our Belgian customers even better, thanks to the cooperation with local merchants in Belgium.

"We would now also like to share the expertise that we have built over the past 20 years with entrepreneurs from the French-speaking part of the country, so that together we can offer a good local alternative. This contributes to our common goal: to be where the customer goes and make life as easy as possible for them."

The new app will offer customers in the region a better shopping experience and accelerate the company's growth in the country.

Presently, bol.com customers can pick up their packages at the Delhaize and Albert Heijn stores in Dutch-speaking Belgium.
