Carrefour In Talks Over Alvimar Supermarkets Purchase

Carrefour is currently in negotiations to buy Alvimar supermarkets in Turuel, Spain, and transform them into Carrefour Express outlets.

Diariodeturuel.es reports that the company plans to start refurbishing the stores at the end of this summer. Both Alvimar's old stores and the new Carrefour Express will extend their working hours till 21:30 or 22:00.

The group is also considering doubling the amount of employees currently hired.

Carrefour Express supermarkets typically have a selling space of between 100 and 500 square metres.
