Co-op To Extend Trial Of John Lewis' Click & Collect Service

Britain's Co-op has announced plans to extend the trial of the 'Click & Collect' service offered by John Lewis & Partners to 50 Co-op food stores.

The service will now be available in Co-op food stores in towns and cities across the UK, including Bristol, Cambridge, Derby, Leicester, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Plymouth, and Wrexham.

In May of this year, Co-op introduced the service as a pilot project in its food stores, to offer customers an additional option for picking up orders.

Partner and head of customer fulfilment operations for John Lewis & Partners, Eva Cullen, said, "Convenience is more important than ever to our customers and our Click & Collect service allows them to pick up their order at a time and place which suits them.

"Following the successful trial and positive feedback from customers, we are looking forward to extending this service to reach even more customers while engaging with new ones too."

Customers can also access the next day Click & Collect service in areas where the John Lewis Partnership has a lower shop presence, Co-op said.

An 'Added Choice'

Mark Pettigrew, director of retail support at Co-op, added, "We continually look to ways to evolve [to] meet the needs of our members and customers, and our initial trial has been very well received; creating added choice, ease, and convenience for time-pressed shoppers."

Co-op aims to complete the phased roll-out of the Click & Collect service to more Co-op food stores by the end of October 2019.
