Czech retailer Albert has announced that it has opened its first supermarket in the town of Uherský Brod in the Zlín Region of the country.
The store features an airy and modern design with a wide range of products, including healthy foods items and snacks, fresh juices, bakery and fruit and vegetables.
It also houses the ‘Healthy with Albert’ section, which offers products for celiacs and diabetics as well as various alternatives to classic food items for people with allergies and restrictions.
The store is located in the centre of the city, close to a housing estate.
Team leader, Sandra Polednová, said, “The locals were very much looking forward to the store. During the preparations, they asked when we would finally open. However, the number of those who came to the opening surprised us.“
The 400 square metre supermarket, one of the retailer’s smaller format stores, is equipped with environmentally friendly technologies.
The store has 18 employees, who were trained in Albert stores in Uherské Hradiště or Luhačovice, the retailer added.
Pavel Mikoška, store manager added, "For the first time, we all saw each other together when preparing the store for live operation. It lasted ten days. Now we have to learn to work as a team and get to know each other better.
“I am glad that the company did not underestimate anything and everyone had the opportunity to train and learn earlier in other stores.”
