Dixy Group's Kostroma Stores Reopen After Hearing

Russian retailer Dixy Group has announced the 'early recommencement' of its stores in Kostroma, after a court hearing which saw the company exonerated of not employing cleaning personnel.

Operations at a number of Dixy stores in the city were suspended by a regional court due to the 'absence of cleaner positions' in the company's staff schedule.

After further hearings, the court reversed its decision, deciding that Dixy Group had successfully argued that it didn't allow for cleaner positions in its staffing schedule because any cleaning duties were completed by professionals from cleaning companies.

“DIXY fully complies with all the current legislation and does not allow any violations of sanitary requirements and regulations in its operations,” said Artyom Afanasiev, legal department and compliance control director of the Dixy Group.

The company operates 2,802 stores throughout Russia, and in 2016 its total revenue equalled RUB 311.2 billion.
