Edeka Builds Fountain In Home Town Minden

On 29 August - with a "Water Away!"- the Mayor of Minden (Germany), Michael Jäcke and CEO of Edeka Minden-Hannover, Mark Rosenkranz, set a new fountain system a-going, part-financed and realised by Edeka.

CEO Mark Rosenkranz added: "By supporting the Minden fountain, we've added a public space to the city centre where people like to hang out. Minden is Edeka's hometown, so I am pleased that the new fountain carries our logo. The fountain adds enormously to the attraction of the redeveloped marketplace, especially for the children."

Construction of the new water feature started on 4 July. Four weeks were needed for the construction itself and another four, to cure the natural-stone tiling: the fountain, which sprays from nine individually controlled jets, is at ground level so that it can be switched off and driven over. This construction allows the market place to be used for events.

The fountain is switched on between 10.00 am and 10.00 pm. In the evenings it is illuminated by a colourful light installation. Wind conditions in the market place also interact with the display.
