Finland's R-kioski Introduces Digital Receipts

Finnish retailer R-kioski has announced that it has introduced digital receipts (eKuitti) for purchases made with a payment card.

Digital receipts act as an alternative to paper versions and offer an easier way for customers to track their purchases, the retailer added.

Maria Sjöroos, R-kiosk's IT & HR director, commented, "Being on the edge of time and acting responsibly is part of R-kiosk's day-to-day operations, and the launch of the eKuitti service is our next step on this path."

"About 80 million customers visit R-kioski every year. This naturally accumulates a large number of receipts when customers buy take-away food, Ärrä's numerous different services and everything in between."

The retailer teamed with the Finnish firm ReceiptHero to execute the eKuitti service.

ReceiptHero's eKey receipts are already available in more than 1,200 shops, restaurants and taxis in Finland.

Customers are required to register their payment cards with ReceiptHero and set up an account to access digital receipts.

The digital receipts will only be delivered to applications approved by the user, the retailer added.

The receipts can be viewed on customers' bank mobile applications, e-mails, or Facebook Messenger, as well as on ReceiptHero accounts.

The service is entirely secure and designed according to the latest EU data protection regulation, the GDPR.
