Franprix Convenience Format Lauded At Briques d’Or Awards

France’s Club Enseigne et Innovation has commended Franprix for the improvements made to its urban ‘Mandarine’ convenience-store format this year at the Briques d’Or awards.

The body gave additional praise for the developments in the supermarket chain’s private label lines.

Chaired by Sébastien Bismuth, managing director of underwear company Undiz, the annual awards ceremony honours the roles played by interior designers and architects in retail.

The Mandarine format was described as conducive to a “welcoming and friendly” experience for shoppers, and “perfectly adapted to the lifestyle of metropolis-dwellers.”

Among the new amenities in the Franprix outlets are freshly squeezed organic juice and rotisseries. The shop style also picked up the Janus du Commerce award earlier this year for its outlets’ aesthetic qualities, traditional epicerie feel, and convivial nature, complemented by juice bars and well-lit, comfortable shopping spaces.

By the end of 2017, 900 Mandarine stores will exist across France.
