French Consumers To Spend Less On Chocolate This Easter

The research body Toluna has carried out a new study on what the French intend to purchase during the Easter period.

Somewhat predictably, 80.7 per cent of consumers surveyed said that they intend to buy chocolate to mark the occasion. This is down, however, by 2.4% on the same period in 2014.

The average French consumer believes he/she will spend about €34 on chocolate for Easter 2015.

The director general of Toluna France, Philippe Guilbert, commented “Gifting others chocolate at Easter time remains a tradition upheld by four out of five French people, even if budgets have shrunk for this year."
