IGD Adds FareShare CEO To Its Board Of Trustees

IGD has announced the appointment of FareShare CEO Lindsay Boswell to its Board of Trustees.

FareShare is a UK-based food redistribution charity that aims at alleviating food poverty and reducing food waste.

Boswell served as the chief executive at the Institute of Fundraising before joining FareShare as the head of the charity, 10 years ago.

Prior to that, he held several roles at charities across Asia, South America and Africa.

'Wealth Of Experience'

Jill Ross, chairman of IGD’s Board of Trustees and chief executive officer, McCurrach, welcomed Boswell's appointment, saying, “His wealth of experience and knowledge of the charitable sector will prove invaluable as we steer IGD’s path for the future.”

IGD CEO, Susan Barratt, added, “He [Boswell] is already a very active supporter of our charitable programmes, and I have no doubt he will bring a very fresh and valuable perspective to our work.”

IGD’s Trustees comprise some of the most experienced people in the food and consumer goods sector.

The Board brings together a blend of skills to help ensure the charity meets its targets and objectives.

Commenting on his new role, Boswell, said, “This is a time of incredible challenge and change for the food and consumer goods industry.

“Having an authoritative voice like IGD’s to set the agenda for our industry has never been more important than it is today, and I am looking forward to helping the organisation’s charitable programmes grow and flourish.”

Presently, IGD and FareShare are working with the food and consumer goods industry, and other charitable food redistributors, to ensure a regular supply of food to food banks during the COVID-19 pandemic.
