Jumbo Launches Grocery Pick-Up Point For Campers

Dutch retailer Jumbo has launched a grocery pick-up point for campers in Uden, Netherlands. In addition to Jumbo’s more than 360 existing pick-up points in stores across the country, customers can now also have their groceries delivered directly to the city's campsite.

Delivery Concept

The retailer says that all of the products in its range can be ordered up until midnight. The following day between 5pm and 6pm, groceries can then be collected at a pick-up point near the campsite’s entrance. All food items are delivered in cooled crates.

“At Jumbo, we want to make life easy for our customers and are constantly looking for opportunities to exceed their expectations,” said Roy van Keulen, online director at Jumbo. “We already have more than 360 pick-up points in stores across the Netherlands and are now the first supermarket to introduce a camping pick up point.”

If the concept is received well, Jumbo plans to expand the pick-up points to other campsites in the future.
